My name is Phumelele Mkhonta, an award-winning environmental journalist based in Eswatini with a deep passion for climate advocacy, sustainability, and a just transition in Africa. Through my work, I leverage the power of storytelling to highlight climate injustices, amplify the voices of affected communities, and drive conversations on sustainable solutions.
I am reaching out to express my interest in joining the Pan African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA) and exploring opportunities to contribute my skills and expertise to your mission. As a journalist committed to fostering climate justice through investigative reporting and advocacy, I believe my work aligns with PACJA’s vision of amplifying African perspectives in global climate discourse.
With a background that includes certification in Women Climate Change Reporting from the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (IDEP/UNECA), I have developed expertise in climate science, gender and climate change, and climate finance.
